Dansk indretningsarkitektur markerer sig på verdensplan
JAC studios modtog, som den første danske tegnestue, hovedprisen: INSIDE World Interior of the Year 2018.
Udstillingen
‘Yumin Art Nouveau Collection’ designet af den danske tegnestue JAC Studios vandt to prestigefyldte priser ved INSIDE World Architecture Festival 2018.
INSIDE World Architecture Festival blev netop afholdt i Amsterdam, en begivenhed, hvor udvalgte tegnestuer fra hele verden præsenterer deres bedste projekter for en international fagjury. JAC studios modtog første prisen i kategorien DISPLAY for glasudstillingen: Yumin Art Nouveau Collection i Tadao Andos museum i Sydkorea og blev også kåret som vinder af hovedprisen for bedste interiør, World Interior of the Year, 2018.

Den danske tegnestue JAC STUDIOS har skabt en poetisk udstilling, ved at anvende glas som det gennemgående materiale i transformationen af udstillingsrum og ankomstområde til museet ‘Genuis Loci’ tegnet af den japanske arkitekt Tadao Ando på Phoenix-halvøen på øen Jeju i Sydkorea.

Naturen og Tadao Ando´s arkitektur:
Phoenix Island kendetegnes af UNESCO området med vulkanen Hallasan. Tadao Ando's museumsbygning ‘Genius Loci’ indrammer netop denne udsigt og forholder sig stedsspecifikt til landskabet. Dialogen mellem dette kraftfulde landskab og Tadao Ando´s arkitektur skaber en elegant og samtidig kompleks ramme for Yumin Art Nouveau Collection. JAC studios opgave var: at skabe relationer mellem landskab, arkitektur og interiør og forholde sig til kulturelle forskelle mellem vest og øst.
“Arkitekturen af Tadao Ando er en storslået ramme for udstillingen. Arkitekturen er i sig selv et kunstværk og som besøgende kan man ikke undgå at blive rørt over dens skønhed. Dette nye museum er respektfyldt, men det udfordrer også arkitekturens kontekst.”

Udstillingen:
Yumin Art Nouveau Collection er JAC STUDIOS første projekt i Sydkorea.
Udstillingen viser glas produceret under Art Nouveau bevægelsen mellem 1870 og 1940 af den franske kunstner Émile Gallé, en af de største kræfter i den franske Art Nouveau bevægelse samt arbejde af broderen Daum. JAC studios arbejdede tæt sammen med Art Nouveau eksperter, så som Didier Laugault fra ‘Chambre Nationale des Experts Specialises’ i realiseringen af udstillingen. Konstruktionen blev fuldført af de lokale arkitekter Chang Creative Inc.
“Introduktionen til udstillingen og bygningens interiør begynder allerede, når man nærmer sig Yumin Museum. Reflekterende glas langs facaden spejler det omkringliggende landskab, havet og de besøgende, hvorpå kultur og natur mødes i én flade. Hver time forandrer solens bane mønstrene og farverne, der rammer facaden. Vi ville gennem dette anslag på en poetisk og varsom måde introducere den nye udstilling af Art Nouveau glas. Art Nouveau glas var en disciplin, hvor det farvede glas og naturen netop var en stærk inspiration for kunstnerne.”

Om JAC studios:
Johan Carlsson er uddannet arkitekt og designer fra Danmarks Designskole og Architectural Association School of Architecture i London. I 2009 etablerede han JAC Studios, der i dag består af arkitekter, designere og kunstnere. De arbejder i et eksperimenterende felt mellem arkitektur, kunst, design og formidling, primært med opgaver indenfor interiør og udstillingsdesign både i Danmark og internationalt. Af projekter i Danmark kan bl.a. nævnes særudstillinger på Davids Samling og de permanente udstillinger på Tøjhusmuseet, Museums Center Hanstholm og Vadehavscentret. I Grønland er de i gang med at designe udstillingen i Illulisat besøgscenter og Det nye Københavns Museum der åbner i 2019.
